There’s another great night of Utribe music coming up at the UpFront Club in Maleny on Thursday 5th August. This will be the third of Utribe’s fundraising nights at the Club. All funds raised will help Utribe Festival out of its current debt crisis and bode well for an ongoing festival in Maleny.

Held on the first Thursday of every month, gigs to date have been real treasures and this one promises more of the same. Each gig tries to feature both local and “outside” artists, and the caliber of musicianship and original music has been fantastic. The stillness that is discovered during their concert performance is profound. Prem & Jethro Williams who are ‘ Sacred Earth‘ love their life and the gift they have been given to bring to the world. Prem shares with us her heart felt devotion for Spirit and our precious Mother Earth through mantra and songs from the heart.

Prem is supported by the world class multi instrumentalist Jethro Williams, playing an array of flutes from around the world including Shakuhachi (Japanese flute), Indian Bansuri, Irish Tin & Low whistles, Acoustic Guitar and songs from the heart.

Sacred Earth will play two concerts on the Sunshine Coast, one in Maleny on Friday 2nd July and one in Eumundi on Saturday 3rd July.

Please join us for what promises to be an evening of sacred music that offers a peace and stillness that very few musical events will ever achieve.

Sacred Earth will be joined on both nights by the soul nourishing music of samjjana (’sum-ya-na’) who offer a wonderful opportunity to bathe in the vibrations of divine love, healing sound, and pure consciousness with the gentle, ethereal, enchanting soundscapes of the ‘Hang” and the haunting sounds of the Native American Indian flutes – Get there early so you do not miss a note.

TIJUANA CARTEL return to the hills of Maleny for another installment in their infamous Dance Hall nights in the grand old hall in Maleny’s main street.

It promises to be a dancarama carnivale style event with Tijuana Cartel playing a pulsating dance set of musical madness accompanied by leading Brisbane based Soulful Dance Reggae outfit Darky Roots and DJ Mr Boinkin to make it a night not to miss.

Compadres of Music, get dressed in your best Cuban threads and come out on Friday June 4th for the CANTA LA TUMBA CD launch @ the Maleny Community Centre.

This Afro/Cuban quartet has produced their debut album titled ‘Sabroso’ with Pixrecords, and is hot to celebrate in Buena Vista/Latin fiesta style. Included on the bill are dynamic guests, rumba/flamenco band Rumbados, for what promises to be a classy night of great music and dancing.
