Launching their debut self titled album, Melbourne based Afro Funk band ‘Kafka’ will be performing their only Sunshine Coast show with very special guests Brisbane’s jazz reggae 6 piece ‘Kooii’ on Saturday 26th July 2008 at the Maleny Community Centre from 730pm til late.

Professor Squealy Deetbum is the world’s leading researcher in Cycology (the art of playing the bicycle).
He will be delivering a lecture demonstrating the fundamental principles of bicycle music.

Sounds are recorded live during the lecture with percussion, wind, and string sounds from the bike.
The Bicycle seat, the handlebar, the gear cable, bicycle pump, wheels, spokes and the bicycle frame are all turned into musical instruments.
Their sounds are recorded and mixed as you watch to create exciting original compositions.
Professor Deetbum will take you past the expected, and on to new musical imaginings.

9:30 – 11:00 High class earth jazz dance beats provided by the mixing and musical genius of Mr Kit Cotter and Herrin Larkan. This will be accompanied by swirling visuals on the big screen that dance to the pulse of the music!
The whole night will be video recorded and placed upon the internet and the audio will be part of a live set of CD’s Astronomy Records will be producing and marketing.
People of all ages are welcome to come along and be a part of a very special night.
There will also be nutritious, wholesome food and juices for sale and plenty of free, fresh water.
