Playing alongside Mick will be brilliant young Brisbane band Tim Loydell and the Deckchairs, coming back to Maleny on the heels of their successful tour of W.A.
Praised across the globe, Mick Hart has supported music giants Bob Dylan, Sting, Coldplay, Van Morrison, Taj Mahal, The Pretenders, Paul Kelly and John Butler Trio.
The Australian singer/songwriter has been touring the world for the past 10 years, playing festivals and concerts across Australia, Europe, the UK, Japan and the USA.
A prolific songwriter, Mick’s music features a broad range of beautiful, emotive folk and pop to catchy hard-edged rock and roots. His songs showcase an enormous depth of songwriting talent and brilliant musicality.
Mick plays guitars, lap steel, keyboards and harmonica, and is backed on his new album by talented band mates, Damian Leonard (bass) and Tony Chubb (drums).
Tim Loydell and the Deckchairs supported the launch of “What Lies Beneath”, Mick’s sixth studio album, and are keen to introduce him to Maleny.
The Deckchairs debut EP, “Some Stranger’s Ship”, received instant airplay on Queensland’s Triple J, ABC Coast FM, 4ZZZ and interstate radio, capped off by performances at the Brisbane Festival, Coastfest, GoMA, The Globe, Zoo, Troubadour, Big Sound Music Industry Summit and Showcase and a spot at Greenfest between Jeff Lang and Kevin Borich.
The very talented Pix Vane Mason will produce the sound for the evening. Community Centre doors open at 8pm. Admission $15. Bar and food are available. Phone 5494 4172 for further information.
